Each year, the poster award is given to one of the second-year I&I students who has prepared and presented an excellent poster. All second-year I&I students participate in the poster presentations, after which finalists are presented. This year, the finalists for the poster presentation will each give a 2-minute mini-presentation on the potential societal impacts of their research, after which the final winner of the poster award will be decided.
Abstract & Presentation Award
All second-year I&I students submit an abstract outlining their major research project work. These abstracts are judged by a panel of experts, who decide upon three finalists. These finalists present their work at the Symposium itself in a 10 minute oral presentation, with 5 minutes for questions.
Supervisor of the Year Award
A supervisor can strongly influence how a student experiences his/her internship and how much or how fast they learn. This award is an opportunity to acknowledge the effort that supervisors put into the training of their students and their vital role in a master student’s education. Nominations are judged by a panel of experts who are all involved in the development and guidance of higher-level education programs at Utrecht University. Based on their assessment of the motivation letters and an interview with the respective students, one supervisor will be announced to receive this year’s award.
